How Mzansi Academy Kids works
Five steps from sign-up to a weekly report that actually tells you something — here’s exactly what happens along the way.
Set up your child's profile
Enter your child's name, grade level, and language — then a short placement quiz finds the right starting point, wherever they're starting from.
Choose learning modules
Language, Coding Basics, Health & Habits, and Activities — each adapted to your child's grade level, all included in one subscription.
Daily learning sessions
Short, focused sessions (5–25 minutes) at your child's own pace — a little harder when they're doing well, a little easier when they need support.
A guided AI coach
The AI Learning Coach gives personalised recommendations and adapts difficulty automatically — and when your child talks to it directly, it teaches with escalating hints, never handing over the full answer immediately.
Real progress you can act on
Weekly reports with specific, AI-generated suggestions — not just a chart of numbers. Watch your child move through the Future Leader tiers: Explorer → Thinker → Builder → Leader.
The thinking behind it
Spaced repetition that actually sticks
Vocabulary and coding concepts are reviewed on an SM-2 spaced-repetition schedule — the same evidence-based approach used by serious language-learning tools — not a single pass never revisited.
Built on South African culture and language
Local foods, animals, family structures, and traditions run through the content from the start — not translated afterthoughts — so learning is relevant and meaningful for SA children specifically.
The Future Leader tiers
Every lesson, activity and health habit earns XP. XP moves your child up a ladder they can see — four tiers, each one a real milestone rather than a badge.
- Step 1
Explorer
0–499 XP
Curious, discovering the world.
- Step 2
Thinker
500–1,999 XP
Building patterns and problem-solving.
- Step 3
Builder
2,000–4,999 XP
Creating and applying with confidence.
- Step 4
Leader
5,000+ XP
Mastery — teaching and inspiring others.
